From the very beginning, Bent Tree Golf Club was to be unlike any golf course in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area. And since its opening in August of 2000, it has firmly and repeatedly established that reputation.
The first, and most required element in creating such a golf course was selecting a piece of land that was, in itself, unique and stunning. Located 4 miles east of Council Bluffs, Bent Tree is nestled among southwest lowa’s breathtaking Loess Hills region. The course is laid out over 225 acres of magnificently rolling terrain, complete with spectacular elevation changes that at times reach nearly one hundred feet from tee to fairway.
The unparalleled character of the landscape was immediately apparent to acclaimed course architect Jeffrey O. Brauer, who said, “it took all of six seconds to decide to build a course here.” The magnificent vision Brauer used in designing each hole is evident in the fact that the entire golf course looks as though it has always existed. There is nothing artificial in its concept or design. The natural beauty of its topography and striking prairie grasses and flowers give this prairie-style design a perfect balance of challenge and splendor.
Bent Tree Golf Club is coveted by the skilled golfer for its ever-changing challenge and necessity of incorporating every club in the bag in order to score. It is also thoroughly enjoyed by the every day golfer for its ample openness of play and its five sets of tees. This player-friendly combination gives every golfer the opportunity to both enjoy and score.
